“Life comes with many challenges. The ones that should not scare us are the ones we can take on and take control of.”

The problem is the mass of women not at high risk of breast cancer who will collectively imitate Jolie and seek preventive mastectomy, and the surgeons who will exploit them. Mastectomy of low-risk women is already a problem, and Jolie’s attention-seeking behaviour as poster girl for the preventive mastectomy fad will only worsen matters. Crowds are mad enough without an idol modelling behaviour for them.
When the fad dies, many of those same women who are now seeking mastectomy because Angelina did it will sue their surgeons for unnecessary procedures, lack of information, loss, pain and suffering…It’ll be a shambles which will make Angelina Jolie’s suffering seem trivial by comparison

Gosh, I hope this person is kidding. See, this is exactly the kind of comments that make me lose faith in humanity. If some people are ignorant enough to just “copy” celebrities actions without educating themselves first, then no one can help them. You can’t fault Jolie for people’s dumb actions.
Now this statement: “Jolie’s attention-seeking behaviour…” Woah…just…NO. Her mother died of cancer. If some people would bother to read more than a couple of shallow headlines, they would see how Angelina Jolie is not trying to be a poster girl for anything, she’s just advising people to EDUCATE themselves and learn as much as they can regarding their health choices. Raising awareness and urging people to inform themselves has been part of Angelina’s personal battles for a long time now. But thank God other people are intelligent enough to understand this is not a “celebrity” issue, it goes deeper than that.
Why some people choose to remain ignorant or be hateful before really knowing what they’re talking about, I’ll never understand.

“No two characters on television are as much fun to listen to as Blair and Dan. If Blair and Chuck’s scenes feel like they come off the pages of really bad romance novels, Dan and Blair remind one more of Howard Hawks’ screwball comedies or Nick and Nora Charles in the Thin Man movies.” (x)
“What occurred, was a modern age example of a screwball romance that gave much more depth, meaning, and growth to a show that had been recycling the same “scandalous” storylines for years.” (x)
“It was as if they belonged on a different show, because their storyline was vastly superior to everyone else’s dull drama. Dan and Blair together are like Harry Burns and Sally Albright reincarnated.” (x)

Gossip Girl: Dan & Blair - I was never a big Gossip Girl fan. For the first couple of seasons I would occasionally find myself watching 3 or 4 episodes in a row before getting irritated and moving on. I always knew I wasn’t the type of viewer they had in mind. For example vapid rich girls complaining about how their mommy doesn’t let them stay out til 6am on a school night never really did it for me, you know? But even so whenever I would see Blair Waldorf played by Leighton Meester or Dan Humphrey played by Penn Badgley on screen together my eyes were glued to the screen. Their performances together whether they were playing frenemies, enemies, friends, cohorts, or lovers were effortless. They always looked as though they were having so much fun. Yes it was a job and yes there were long days but it was all worth it because they were having fun. Dan & Blair didn’t end up together in the end & although I find that to be unfortunate I take solace in the belief that somewhere in the Gossip GIrl universe they are at this moment bickering, smiling, laughing, and generally having a good time.

¿Dónde estás?
¿Qué cielo cruzas sin extrañarme…nube perdida?
¿Por qué no vienes a iluminarme…luz de mi vida?
…detén tu vuelo y vuelve a casa…¡nube viajera!
Por una sola de tus caricias…¡todo lo diera!
Aunque volvieras de nuevo a irte…lejos de mí…
